Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said the government is preparing about Rp1 trillion in support for integrated smallholder livestock farming. He spoke in Jakarta on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, after a coordination meeting on feed-corn partnerships at the ministry's office.
The funds cover subsidies, production equipment and farmer welfare efforts. A subsidy of Rp300 billion is allocated through December 2026 for 300,000 hectares, and another Rp300 billion is planned next year, bringing total subsidies to Rp600 billion.
Equipment and a closed system
The equipment comprises 100 tractors, 100 dryers and 100 pumps to raise corn output for animal feed. The government is also building a closed system that links corn farmers and livestock breeders through cooperatives so that feed supply can be planned and controlled.
According to Amran, about Rp1 trillion is being redirected from roughly Rp3.7 trillion saved through refocusing non-priority spending.
